Rockford GOLFS! now heard on WNTA
The most talked about, original and entertaining live local golf radio show, Rockford GOLFS! Currently in its third season on Saturdays at 7:00 a.m. and is now heard on 1330 WNTA.
Rockford GOLFS! provides golfers with information on Park District tournaments, lesson programs, as well as instructional tips and other news concerning the world of golf.
The show is hosted by Paul Anthony Arco from the Rockford Park District and includes weekly co-hosts Dave Claeyssens and Nancy Joan Kauzlarich, managers of Golf Services; Duncan Geddes, manager and head professional of Aldeen Golf Club; Steve D. Moore, coordinator of golf instruction, and Lloyd McWilliams, five-time men’s city champion and, along with Nancy and Dave, an inductee of the Rockford Area Golf Hall of Fame.
Even non-golfers will enjoy this highly entertaining hour from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. Saturday mornings, March 8 through August 23. The program is rebroadcast on Sunday mornings, 5:00 to 6:00 a.m. and can be viewed on Comcast TV sports channel 57 several times a week.
Rockford GOLFS! will broadcast live from several remote locations (including the Rockford ProAM), and our new studio is right outside the back nine of Sandy Hollow Golf Course.
Listeners can win golf packages including rounds to Park District courses, as well as regional gems such as Geneva National, The General at Eagle Ridge, and University Ridge near Madison.
Rockford GOLFS! also brings local golf fans timely interviews with stars from the PGA. Last year, PGA golfers Billy Mayfair, Ken Duke, and Kenny Perry were featured in interviews, along with EPSN personality Kenny Mayne, former NFL quarterback Chris Chandler, Mike Eurizone (from the 1980 USA hockey team), and actress Cindy Morgan (star of Caddyshack) all appeared on Rockford GOLFS! This year, staff will be bringing back even more interesting and exclusive interviews to share on the air from the PGA Show in Florida in January.
According to Matt Trowbridge, Assistant Sports Editor and Golf Writer for the Rockford Register Star, Rockford GOLFS! is “the best local show that I’ve heard in my seventeen years in Rockford.”
